Summary:

This Spec Script was written in 2015 before the revival of the series. it takes place in 2017 and replaces Seasons 10 & 11. It was meant to be sent to the producers at FOX but the revival of the series was green lit and turned this screenplay into an alternate universe timeline.

Logline:

Mulder and Scully are back after an employee at the Pentagon commits suicide and leaves a cryptic message that acts as a catalyst for a new investigation into the whereabouts of their son, the alien colonization and a new villain who conspires to control the world.

Synopsis

The story of Mulder and Scully continue in 2017 after a suicide at the pentagon leaves a cryptic message for the agents about their missing son. They soon discover a new date for alien colonization and a new villain raises from within the government with new threats to the world.

The film is set in 2017 and continues after the second movie “The X-Files: I Want to Believe” (2008).

It also ties in the story from the first movie “The X-Files: Fight The Future” (1998) and pulls the mythology arc from the series that ran from 1993 to 2002.

This screenplay deals with colonization and conspiracy. It introduces new characters to the mythology including new villains that tie in with past villains including Conrad Strughold from “The X-Files: Fight The Future” (1998) film.  He was the main villain who was mentioned before and appeared in that film and was never mentioned again… until now.

Below are all the links you need to read the screenplay and some things to accompany your reading. A dream cast list I made for inspiration while writing, The historic timeline to aide in the telling of all events X-Files and the episode guide to catch up on the relevant episodes of the series.
